The classic endurance race took place June 11-12, 2011, the same weekend that TAG Heuer’s partner Vodafone McLaren Mercedes was winning at the Canadian Grand Prix, during an epic race : under heavy rain and after 6 pit stops, Jenson Button came back from last position to overtake S. Vettel in the very last lap !
“What a great way to cap our 150 Years of Motor-Racing celebrations, with a third straight trophy at Le Mans, and Jenson’s amazing victory in Canada” said CEO of TAG Heuer, Jean-Christophe Babin, from Le Mans where he was hosting 40 VIP retailers and media guests from all over the world. “Our partnerships with Audi Sport, Team Greaves and Vodafone McLaren epitomizes what is unique about our brand heritage — the closest ties to motor sports and car manufacturing in the watchmaking industry, and a relentless focus of every ounce of energy and know-how on one goal : being the best.”
Jenson Button was proudly wearing its Carrera 1887 on the podium.
